The Old Trails Inn was originally The Palms Auto Court, which at some point became known as The Palms Motel. Much later it was renamed the Old Trails B&B Inn in the early 1990s and is now now called Palms Apartments. Jack Rittenhouse mentioned "The Palms" as an auto court in his 1946 "Guide Book To Highway 66".

It occupies most of the block bounded by Front St, Broadway and A St. at the fork of Broadway & Front.

xThere are several very small cabins in the compound. These are really just old fashioned cottage style cabins rather than apartments. There are other buildings on the grounds that appear to have possibly been lodging units.

xThere is a sign on the an old gas station as you curve left off Old Trails (Route 66) onto Broadway. This appears to be a much newer structure compared to the rest of the motel so it may not have been part of the original motel property.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
