1939 Rossi Service Station

Peter Rossi built this service station in 1939. It features white glazed tile and Spanish style tile brackets on the parapet. It looks like the windows and door on the corner have been modified over the years, would be nice to see them restored to the original design. The building was for sale or rent when we went by in 2022.

xM & R Tire occupied the building when we snapped these photos in 2012.

x It was also known for a long time as Lucenta Tire. When we were here in 2012 there was still an old Lucenta Tire sign behind the tire shop. The building is located at the intersection of N Washington & E Main Streets.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
