You never know where a mural will turn up on Route 66. We weren't looking for this one when we stopped to see the replica of the Hubble Telescope across the street on the town square lawn, but there it was, a pleasant surprise! It is located on a the building at 205. Washington, directly across Clay St. from the Hubble Telescope monument.

x Marshfield was founded in 1855 and this brightly colored mural was created to celebrate the towns 130th anniversary in 1985. The mural includes the Hubble telescope, and the presidential seal in honor of President H.W. Bush who rode in the 4th of July parade in 1991.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
