A statue of a grieving angel surrounded by engraved bricks and park benches is dedicated to all parents who have lost a child. Gina and Mark Pingleton were instrumental in the creation of this little park after losing their son in 2004. The park is located on Osage St. and N 3rd St. across the street from the former Cave Cafe and Service Station.

GPS: 38.484242, -90.744280

xIn 2011 the first ceremony for parents to present their engraved bricks was held. The names represent children who have left this life before their parents.

xA small waterfall flows into a little pond. The waterfall was added and the materials were donated by US Silica.

In 2013 the flagpole, landscaping, lighting and veterans' monuments were dedicated.

xLook up on the side of the bluff and you'll see these children resting in a small shallow cave.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
