Dillon Court / Country-Aire Motel

13531 Old Highway 66, Rolla, MO 65401

East < GO > West

The Dillon Court was built in 1945 with 5 separate duplex cabins for a total of 10 guest units. The motel was named in honor of the Dillon school district. The cabins were arranged around in a semicircle along the driveway.

It is located west of I-44 exit 195 on the north frontage road, near Mile Marker 192.2.

GPS: 37.985646, -91.677700

x By 1964 Josephine & Clarence Nowak owned the motel and changed the name to the Country-Aire Motel. Later the cabins were connected together under on roof. It doesn't look like the number of rooms went up when the new roof connecting the cabins was added, there are only 11 mailboxes out front.

By 1971 a small 16 spot RV park west of the motel had been added to the motel complex. At some point a swimming pool was added in the grassy area in the center of the drive, but it's gone now. The campground appears to be gone and the motel units are now rented as longer term presidential housing.

NOTE: The first card shows the motel before the cabins were connected and doesn't mention a campground. There's some kind of logo on the back of the second card card that I presume is some professional travel association, but I don't know which one.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
