Ben Brewer built six cabins in 1935. By 1939 there were eight cabins, a cafe and Conoco Service Station. There were still a couple of gas pumps out front, I assume they are for nostalgia not for actually pumping gas. R&S Floral has been located here since 1963.

x The native stone cabins have had their original hip roofs replaced with shed style roofs and are apparently used for storage.

x The "Modern Cabins" sign was restored in 2014 and stands proudly in front of the cafe / station building.

Across the street there are Christmas ornaments hanging from the trees.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
