The sign at the Grandview Motel on Route 66 on the west side of Albuquerque is a bit weathered and worn, but still shows a hint of it's former glory.

xThe motel name and "No Vacancy" are neon and the red arrow was lit with incandescent light bulbs. A zigzag neon strip runs just below the roof edge on the office and motel building.

xThe motel features typical L shape with the office in a separate small building. This was the first motel people saw as they traveled east on Route 66 into Albuquerque. It was owned and operated by Russell Farber.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
