Former TraveLodge

1204 E Santa Fe (Route 66), Grants, NM
Phone: x

East < GO > West

This early 1960s motel, originally a Travelodge, opened with 32 rooms. It was still a TraveLodge as late as at least 1985. In 2019 it was signed as the Leisure Lodge Motel, but it was apparently no longer operating as a motel. One interesting piece of trivia is that Sean Penn starred in the 2003 movie 21 Grams in which the motel had a bit part.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
