Brookshire Motel Site11017 E. 11th St, Tulsa, OKPhone:
All that's left of the Brookshire Motel is a small section of fennce and a bit of the sign base. The motel was located on 11 St (Route 66) just west of Garnett Rd on the north side. It consisted of a clapboard duplex cottage with connecting open-entry garages and another cottage style building with two units. The older part of the motel was probably built in the 1930s. The motel consists of 14 units of which 10 units are later additions along with a two-story office building. A fire in early 2019 damaged the main building.

The
office occupied a larger tudor style building but is hidden behind a
block fence along with the rest of the property. In early 2019 a fire
in the main (office) building caused considerable damage leading to
the motel being torn down in late 2020.
The
neon tubing is missing from the vintage sign in this photo, but it's
still a cool old sign.

Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
