The westbound Texas Welcome Center and rest area is just west of I-40 exit 132. The two Welcome Centers on this stretch of I-40 in Texas feature completely different styles.

xThe westbound Welcome Center features an expansive view of the prairie behind it.

The eastbound Welcome Center and rest area is just east of I-40 Exit 129. It features a Route 66 design theme. Inside there is a display commemorating the history of the Mother Road in Texas.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
