The
very cool neon sign looks like it dates back to the same time.
What
appears to be a small former motel was still located right behind Danny's
Service Station when we snapped this photo in 2016. It was still there
in May of 2019, but it was gone by June of 2022.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
