Dance Pavilion Mural

130 W 4th St., Carthage, MO

East < GO > West

This mural was painted by John Biggs in 2006. It is the third mural he painted on buildings around the square. It shows the old dance pavilion from 1938 that occupied the site now housing the roller rink in Municipal Park.

x The mural is located on Lyon & 4th Sts. When the mural was painted, the building was home to Schmidt Associates and they had the original portrait-size painting hanging in their lobby. The building is now home to Flanigan, Lasley & Moore, a law firm.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
