Stone Warehouse

1904 Main St., Halltown, MO

East < GO > West

The old stone warehouse building was built sometime around 1903 by A. A. Combs. They ran a Chatanooga Plows sales business in the building. It has apparently been used for various commercial purposes over the yearsby the Hamilton Brown Shoe Co., a movie house, a mortuary, and in later years an antique shop. There is still a very faded ANTIQUES sign painted on the east end of the building. Whatever it was used for it is a fairly attractive symmetrical design.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
