1918 Canute Jail

This jail stands along the alley on the west side of the Canute Service Station. It was built in 1918 and compared to the pioneer jail a few miles away in Foss, OK it looks marvelously modern! But it is over 100 years old so the accomodations may be a bit lacking in creature comforts. On a more serious note, I wonder if this is the original location, it seems to be in someones back yard?

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
