The Ottawa County Courthouse was built in 2009 replacing the old courthouse built in 1916-1917. It is place on the north end of the complex as the old courthouse was on the south end. When this one was completed, the old one was torn down.

xThere are two Spanish American war Cannon located at the complex. The cannons came from Fort Bliss and For Sam Houston in 1923. They were refurbished in 1958 & 2000.

xAlso at the complex is a replica of the Statue of Liberty that celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Boy Scouts. This statue was dedicated in 1950. It was also refurbished in 2000.

xThere also is a memorial honoring the many who gave their lives in the service of our country through the years, as did the location of the Route itself.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
